Hm. I think that's what I really want to do. For a living, or whatever. Just go into code trances every day. My current job involves a lot of software support, which breaks trances too often.

Violent Games

Louisiana politicians have been discussing a violent video games ban.

I agree, some games are just not appropriate. I know of one game, targetted specifically at young men, containing realistic violence and accurate lethal weapons training. Kids can download this game for free and learn how to slaughter human opponents with assault weapons. The game doesn't even disguise itself -- it boasts being a recruiting and training tool for a violent organization, one that many countries say poses a threat to world peace. If we ban violent video games, we surely must put restrictions on this one.

Why does using a coupon make you feel like a smart shopper and a cheap bastard all at the same time?

I had a "$1.00 off when you buy two 12-can packs of Coke Zero" coupon. I take in almost as much cola as I do oxygen, so it's a good deal for me.

After checkout, they gave me a new coupon: "$1.50 off when you buy three 12-can packs of Coke Zero".

I admit, I don't really remember watching Pirates of the Carribean. I'm sure it was a decent movie.

It's #240 on the top 250 movies at IMDB (voted on by users of the website; only people with a certain total of votes get counted). It has a rating of 7.5/10.

However, just among women voters: #14 movie of all time. Rating: 8.4/10.
